Visit to the mining community of Payala

Pajala is a municipality in Norrbotten County, on the Tornio River, known for its strong economy. The largest employer in the municipality is the Kaunis Iron iron mine, which operates on the principles of sustainable mining and provides significant employment in the area.

Business Ranua is organising a visit to Pajala. During the visit, we will meet with the people from the municipality of Pajala and Kaunis Iron. The purpose of the meeting is to share experiences on cooperation between the municipality and the mining company, as well as solutions related to labour, education, housing and environmental concerns. The business team from the municipality of Ranua will participate and we will also invite interested entrepreneurs to join us.

Participation in the trip is free of charge for participants. Places are limited, so please register soon.

10:00 - 10:15 coffee break at Sinetäe

12:30 (11:30) - 13:00 (12:00) lunch at Pajala

13:00 (12:00) - 15:30 (14:30) meeting with the Municipality of Pajala and Kaunis Ironi

15:30 (14:30) return to Ranua
