Juha Ovaskainen
Researcher, GTK
Juha Ovaskainen has worked for many years in tasks related to the sustainable economic use of peatlands and the processing of peatland biomasses, both in the company and in the public sector.
In the Ranua swamp biomass project, he was responsible for the role of the Geological Survey of Finland in producing sample data and assessing the raw material potential.
Jari Siivari
PhD, Fingredient Ltd
As a Doctor of Chemistry, Jari has strong expertise especially in the chemistry of plant-based biomasses.
Fingredient Oy manufactures bio-based raw materials for the needs of the cosmetics, food and chemical industries and provides contract manufacturing of bio-based extracts and powders and expert services to companies in the field.
Helena Pahkala
Helena works at Metsäkeskus as a customer advisor for companies in the Lapland region. The aim is to support the development of forest industry life and the growth and diversification of entrepreneurship in the forest sector.
The Forest Centre offers the customer, for example, personal expert assistance for business development, training for its own personnel or customers, information related to forests, forest utilisation and forest ownership for the information needs of companies.
Heikku Ruha
Care and bath peat entrepreneur, LehtoPeat Oy
Nature Entrepreneur of the Year 2020
LehtoPeat Oy has a long tradition in the further processing of Finnish peat. The founder of the company, Heikki Ruha, has worked as an entrepreneur in the peat industry for over 30 years.
